Shipping Policy

Shipping & Secure Delivery

  1. Try to avoid weekends during transit if possible.
  2. Ship to a business address if at all possible. This ensures an adult is available to sign for your shipment on the first delivery attempt (and costs less than residential delivery). This reduces the possibility that your order will be returned.
  3. Ensure the presence of a receiver of legal age. All orders require a signature from someone who is 21 or older. Carriers will not deliver packages to under-age persons and a failed delivery attempt will cause a delay in receipt and may introduce weather-related risk of damage.
  4. Contact the carrier if you cannot be present to receive your package. If your ability to receive the package on your original delivery day changes, contact the carrier as soon as possible to make alternate arrangements. A tracking number will be provided to you for this purpose.

Order Processing

Orders are processed Monday through Friday. Orders take an average of one week to process and ship.

Shipping Methods & Costs

Based on state availability, our shipments are handled by FedEx. Most orders are shipped via Ground service. Wine shipments require a signature, at the time of delivery, from someone 21 years or older. No wine will be delivered to a visibly intoxicated person, and any person unable to produce age verification forfeits their right to receive the shipment until identification is produced.

All costs associated with return due to unsuccessful delivery attempts will be charged to the customer. In the unlikely event of damages in transit, customers are responsible for filing claims directly with the respective third party transit carrier. Shipping charges include costs for third party transit and all product-handling costs. Orders are shipped after credit card approval.

State Shipping Laws

Wines may be shipped only to states whose regulations permit it. Regulations and court decisions affecting the interstate shipment of wine are in constant flux. Therefore, we may change the states and regions to which we are able to help arrange shipments at any time, and without notice. The purchaser represents that he or she is acting in a fashion compliant with his or her local and state laws regarding the purchase, transportation and delivery of wine.

Due to unique state shipping laws, VARA Wines currently cannot ship to the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Kentucky, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Rhode Island and Utah.

Restrictions on shipping also apply to the following states: Louisiana, New Jersey and Ohio.

*Hold-Orders

Shipping may be placed on HOLD due to weather or at a customer’s request. Freight will be charged separately when the order is shipped. Orders can be held for no longer than 60 days.
